The Marijuana Leaf and Canna Rust |
Canna rust is a fungal disease that is caused by Puccinia Thaliae and will cause orange spots on the marijuana leaf. When not treated this rust colored fungal disease can affect the stems and the upper leaves can turn a black to brown color.
The marijuana leaves will dry and fall off from this fungus infection.
When the fungus infection appears the leaves it has affected should be removed from the plant. If it is not the Canna rust will continue to engulf the marijuana leaves, reaching the stem. Canna rust will eventually affect the entire cannabis crop if not dealt with by the marijuana grower, by consuming the plant one marijuana leaf at a time.
The easiest way to treat Canna rust is to use a commercial spray that is copper based that is sprayed on both sides of the marijuana leaves and on the stem. This for the marijuana grower can be a problem and other remedies should be used as this is toxic
