The White Fly and the Marijuana Leaf

White flies can be a problem when growing cannabis and attack the young marijuana leaves. The adult white fly is approximately 1.5 mm and appears to be covered with a waxy white powder.

When the white fly infests the marijuana crop the female will deposit oval shaped eggs on the underside of the young marijuana leaf. This will usually be at the top of the cannabis plant. The white fly will be an infestation in large numbers and they will multiply rapidly. White flies are also known for transmitting viruses to the cannabis plant when an infestation occurs.

The flies feed on the marijuana leaf and causing the marijuana leaves to turn yellow and to fall from the cannabis plant. When the grower does not deal with the white fly infestation immediately it is almost certain the cannabis plants will not live .
